Hatfield School Committee approved a 2026-27 professional development plan and a Boston-Salem class trip Monday. Members voted 5-0 to adopt the PD plan, which Dr. Driscoll said grew from the district's collective bargaining agreement and focuses on horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment.
The committee also unanimously approved an eighth-through-11th-grade trip to Boston and Salem, with per-student costs ranging from $398 to $488 depending on enrollment, and unanimously advanced the JICFA hazing policy and JKA corporal punishment policy in one vote. Officials said bids for a roof and boiler replacement project came in at $1.133 million and about $280,000, well under original estimates, which members said means "less borrowing means lower taxes." A restraint policy, JKAA, remains under revision and returns in April.
