School Committee adopts superintendent's four goals

School Committee · Meeting of October 26, 2026

HATFIELD — The Hatfield School Committee adopted four superintendent goals built on a state DESE district review and finalized two student policies. Superintendent Driscoll's goals target a new data dashboard called HATSIS, districtwide "instructional rounds," a restored student representative seat and new standard operating procedures for budgeting across all fund types. The committee called the data-analysis work foundational, saying "true data is being analyzed for good information" but that performance impact "is not going to be evident by June." Members unanimously approved updated physical restraint (JKAA) and field trip (IJOA) policies, and accepted a joint donation from Bardwell Farms and Hatfield Pickleball for fresh produce in school meals.

Dr. Salovardos reported the district is roughly two special education evaluations behind and still has a vacant speech and language pathologist position. The committee then voted by roll call to enter executive session on Hatfield Teaching Association contract negotiations.
