Hatfield Select Board Appoints Officer, Seats New Disability Commission
HATFIELD — January 7, 2020 — Hatfield Select Board fills police, committee, and commission vacancies at first 2020 meeting. The board unanimously appointed Anthony Gibby, a Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran and former Hampshire County corrections officer, to the police department on the recommendation of Police Chief Keith Kokoszka. The board also seated three appointees — Holly Brandon, Christie Dyer, and DPW Director Joel Valley — to the newly established Commission on Disability, and approved David Cure to a fire chief screening committee that is expected to deliver a recommendation by month's end. Town Administrator Marlene reported that an unanticipated special education and transportation cost, originally flagged at roughly $113,000, has been reduced to $97,257.50 after the Holyoke School Department agreed to reimburse a portion as the sending district.
