Hatfield Select Board approved the Annual Town Meeting warrant and a tightened FY27 budget.
Select Board · Meeting of April 28, 2026
Hatfield Select Board approved the Annual Town Meeting warrant and a tightened FY27 budget. The board, chaired by Edmund Jaworski, settled a West Street eminent domain case for $20,000, awarded a generator installation contract to Elm Electrical, and approved a union health insurance MOU tied to a 12.48 percent rate increase from the Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust. Town Administrator Andrew said the plan changes mean new $250 individual deductibles but include mitigation checks of up to $347 per family.
Developer Mike Bartlett pitched an eight-unit, partly subsidized housing project at 7 Elm Street, calling it a "friendly 40B," and the Finance Committee recommended $100,000 in Community Preservation Act funds for pre-development costs. The budget session left a $25,000 surplus after the Finance Committee restored several cuts. Town Meeting is set for May 12 at Smith Academy.
