Hatfield Select Board Waives Business License Fees, Awards Fuel Tank Contract

HATFIELD — November 2, 2021 — Hatfield Select Board waives business license fees for 2022 and awards a $148,838 fuel tank contract. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to extend pandemic relief by waiving all 2022 liquor and dealer license renewal fees — roughly $14,000 in total revenue — on the same terms as 2021, excluding package stores that remained open throughout the pandemic. In a separate unanimous vote, the board awarded the highway garage fuel tank replacement to Sovereign Builders for $148,838, with the Finance Committee recommending $53,838 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to cover the gap above the $95,000 town meeting authorization; the ARPA funding basis will be confirmed at the next meeting. A planned change to hold the annual Luminarium on a Saturday was tabled after Fire Chief Bob told the board the department had not been consulted on fireworks plans and that state permitting had not begun, while Town Clerk Lydia reminded members that the event's Sunday date was set by a 2000 town meeting vote only residents can change.
