HATFIELD — December 3, 2019 — Hatfield Select Board unanimously approved a $95,879.16 accessibility ramp change order and entered a community electricity purchasing agreement at its December 3 meeting. Chair Luke Longstreeth and members Edmund Jaworski and Julia Frisby approved change order PCL number six for a new west-end ramp at Memorial Town Hall, part of an ongoing renovation with a broader budget discussed at prior meetings. The board also extended the fire chief's contract through January 31, 2020, after his agreement expired November 30, and authorized the town administrator to pursue outsourced accounting services after a candidate declined the town's financial director offer without negotiating. On electricity, representatives from Dynegy presented the town's new 30-month Community Choice Power Supply contract at 9.897 cents per kilowatt-hour — compared with Eversource's announced winter rate of 11.571 cents — with an opt-out mailing targeting December 12 and automatic enrollment beginning with February meter reads.
