Hatfield Select Board appoints comprehensive plan committee, backs climate grant

HATFIELD — May 3, 2022 — Hatfield Select Board unanimously approved a one-day liquor license, a water abatement, and filled 13 seats on a new comprehensive plan committee at its May 3 meeting. Chair Luke Longstreeth and members Edmund Jaworski and Julia Frisby voted to grant Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity a license for its "Feast for Habitat" event at RK Miles, 21 West Street, on May 25. The board approved a $279.87 water bill abatement at 356 West Street after the DPW director reported a faulty meter had been running fast. Committee appointees drew from 10 town boards and commissions, with three at-large seats going to David Kear, Julia Frisby, and Jalil Johnson; Council on Aging and Housing Authority seats remain open. The board also voted to support a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant application, due Thursday, aimed at funding a comprehensive town plan with climate hazard components developed in partnership with Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.
