HATFIELD — March 3, 2020 — Hatfield Select Board approves revised Kappa Walk parking design and questions $9,400 Town Hall sink cost. The board unanimously backed a redesigned parking expansion at the Hatfield Housing Authority's Kappa Walk property, adding six spaces, wider access aisles, new benches, and pedestrian-activated crosswalk flashers as a bid alternate — all funded primarily through the state Department of Housing and Community Development. The board also unanimously granted a water meter abatement for 26 North Street after the DPW director confirmed a misread. On the Town Hall renovation, board members including Chair Luke Longstreeth and Member Edmund Jaworski refused to approve change order number four, totaling $27,727.83, until the architect provides an itemized breakdown of a $9,400 kitchen sink installation required for ADA compliance — with Jaworski calling the figure "a bit pricey."
