Hatfield Select Board Votes to Build Rear Ramp at Memorial Town Hall
HATFIELD — November 19, 2019 — Hatfield Select Board unanimously approves long-debated accessibility ramp at Memorial Town Hall. The board voted Tuesday to direct the contractor to install a rear ramp estimated at $89,000, drawing from a $325,000 renovation fund, after years of community disagreement over the project's location. Town Counsel had previously confirmed the expenditure was legally permissible. In a joint session with the Housing Authority board, the Select Board also appointed Roland Loren as tenant representative to the Housing Authority with a term through 2022, following a tenant election held November 4 at Chapinook. The board abated $1,406.41 on an erroneous Cronin Hill Road water bill and approved a one-day liquor license for a Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce event December 4 at the Food Bank of Western Mass. The town administrator reported the fiscal year 2019 recap was expected to be submitted to the Department of Revenue by the end of the week.
