Hatfield Select Board Accepts Three Resignations, Names New Electrical Inspectors

HATFIELD — January 5, 2021 — Hatfield Select Board accepts three long-tenured resignations and appoints two electrical inspectors at January 5 meeting. The board accepted with regret the departures of 41-year electrical inspector Stanley "Buster" Symansky, Police Lieutenant Tim Patrick, and Council on Aging member Jill Tucker, then immediately appointed Patrick to fill the electrical inspector vacancy, with Craig Neal named as alternate. COVID Coordinator Carrie Flaherty reported 16 active cases and said contact tracing was hampered by residents refusing to cooperate, warning that general public vaccination was still three to four months away. Town Administrator Marlene reported the town had received $177,382 in CARES Act reimbursements out of an expected $289,000 — a gap of roughly $112,000 — because FEMA indicated it would not cover certain municipal and school COVID expenses, leaving the Finance Committee to work out how those costs will be paid.
